Visa Extension

Are you in Canada on a Student Visa, Spouse Dependent Visa, Visitor Visa, or Work Permit? Do you want to remain there for an extended period of time? If so, then a visa extension may be able to help you do so. Individuals whose visas are nearly expiring can apply for an extension of their stay in Canada. People in the country on any of the aforementioned visas can submit an application for a visa extension while they are still there. However, once someone has gone back to their home country, they will need to reapply and can no longer apply for an extension.

Study Permit Extension

If someone studying in Canada wishes to stay longer, they can apply for an extension to their Canadian Student Visa. It is recommended to submit the application at least 1 month before the visa's expiration date, with the processing time usually taking between 15 and 60 days. This timeframe may fluctuate depending on the individual case.

Spouse Dependent Visa Extension

It is possible to obtain a Spouse Dependent Visa Extension while already in Canada and remain with the spouse for up to six months. It is important to submit an application for the visa extension one month before it is due to expire. The duration of the process may vary from 10 to 30 days.

Visitor Visa Extension

A person must submit an application for an extension of the Visitor Visa before 30 days of the visa's expiration. It is possible to receive an extension of Canada's Visitor Visa for up to 6 months or less.

Work Permit Extension

It is possible to submit a request for an extension of a work permit within 30 days of the visa expiration date while you are employed full-time in Canada. Generally, the processing time for the extension of the work permit is 15-30 days. For assistance with Visitor Visas, Study Visas, and Spouse Dependent Visas, Dream Consultants can be of help.
